Esther Roberta "Bobbie" Taylor Bourne, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2018, at her home. Bobbie was born March 3, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Taylor and Clara Nellie Bruehl Taylor. During the course of her lifetime she lived in Utah, Virginia, Wyoming, Washington, and Idaho. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom and dedicated her life to her husband and family, and cared for her severely handicapped son for over 60 years. She wed her high school sweetheart, Gary Lee Bourne, on April 24, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah. To this union were born four children, David, Diane (Bill), Don (LeAnn), and Debbie (Leonard). Bobbie and Gary made their home in Idaho Falls and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past April. Additionally, Bobbie helped care for her ailing husband for the last several years, as he has dementia and required much devotion and patience. Bobbie was well-known for her love of family and her zest for life. Bobbie’s biggest happiness in life were her children, grandchildren, husband, and friends. Her passions included sewing, gardening, camping, and visiting with her husband late into the night. Bobbie fought cancer, lung disease, and heart problems for the last 15 years. Bobbie was extremely well-liked by all who knew her and is leaving many loving friends behind at her assisted living retirement center (Fairwinds). She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Gary Bourne of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David Bourne of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Diane (Bill) of Richland, WA; son, Don (LeAnn) of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Debbie (Leonard) of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters, Katie Hernandez, Nellie Bennett, Barbara (Joe) Netols; brothers, Dave (Sandra) Taylor, Robert (Gay) Taylor, and Lamar (Stephanie) Taylor; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Nellie Taylor; and brother, Phil Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Brian Wood officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
