Barbara Sue “Bobbie” Bacon, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 4, 2013, at her home in Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.
Bobbie was born July 3, 1926, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to M. Taylor Littleton and Marjamie Beasley Littleton. She was raised on the Abel Beasley farm. She contracted polio at the age of five and spent a number of her formulative years in and out of the children’s hospitals.
Her family later moved to Bakersfield, California, where they lived on the local Indian reservation. She graduated from Bakersfield High School. She was trained professionally to be a piano teacher and later to work on computers, during the early years of computer technology. She worked for a number of years at Montgomery Ward and was in charge of their computer department, supervising 30 employees. Her last several years have been spent in Idaho Falls, with her extensive extended family.
Bobbie enjoyed crocheting, cats, westerns, and reading murder mysteries.
Bobbie is survived by
Daughter, Pennie (Dr. Steven) Bacon-Sackrin of Oakland, CA;
Son, Dan (Arlene) Bacon of Sparks, NV;
Sister, June Armijo Matlick of Reston, VA;
3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul Armijo and Bob (Gayle) Armijo, and a sister, Peggy Littleton Whitman.
Private Family Services will be held at a later date with burial in Taylor Cemetery.
