Bobbie Ray "Bob" Long, 83, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away October 12, 2022, at his home. He was under the care of One Source Hospice.

Bob was born May 26, 1939, in the city of Ducor, Tulare County of California, to Chester Erving Long and Doris Marie Combs Long. He grew up and attended schools in San Juan Capistrano and graduated from Capistrano High School. He also attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California.

On September 5, 1959, he married Patricia "Patty" Ann Hillis in Westminster, California. They were later sealed together for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on June 19, 1979. Bob and Patty were married for 63 years. They made their home in Escondido, California, where Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction. Bob and Patty later moved their family to the Ozarks where they spent 28 years. After retirement, they moved to Ammon, Idaho, in 2012.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in several callings. Many of his hobbies were farm tractors, farm animals, collecting cars, and working with wood.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Patty Long of Ammon, ID; son, Gregory (Heidi) Long of Lehi, UT; daughters, Cathy Jackson of Idaho Falls, ID and Rhonda (Kenneth) Mayo of Kennesaw, GA; sisters, Barbara Jennings of Fruit Heights, UT and Patricia Calhoon of German Town, TN; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Taylor Cemetery, 720 East 129th South, with Bishop Aaron Powell of the Ammon 2nd Ward officiating.
