BLANE W. HOLBROOK
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Blane Wilkes Holbrook, 84, of Idaho
Falls, died April 6, 2004, at Life Care Center. He was under the care
of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
He was born December 4, 1919, in Afton, Wyoming, to Joseph
Lamoni Holbrook and Sarah Leola Wilkes Holbrook. He grew up and attended
schools in Marysville and graduated from Ashton, Idaho High School. He
has lived in Idaho Falls since 1948. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps
during World War II.
He married Clara Murdoch September 9, 1945. She preceded
him in death in 1953. He married Hazel Elizabeth Stanger, September 15,
1954, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls
LDS Temple on June 6, 1958. He worked as a Desk Clerk at the Hotel Rogers
in Idaho Falls, then for the Department of Energy until his retirement.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints and served as ward Financial Clerk for over 15 years.
He loved to ski, go hunting, do his yardwork and cook.

Daughter: M. Kaye Mickelsen (Brent) Tueller, Idaho Falls
Son: Gregory (Peggy) Mickelsen, Idaho Falls
Sisters: Dortha Baker, Idaho Falls,
Beth Murdoch, St. George, UT
Helen Chamberlain, Ashton, ID
11 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Clara, and two
brothers, Thede and Glen Holbrook.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Friday, April
9, 2004, at The Idaho Falls LDS Rose Park Ward, 351 West 14th Street,
with Bishop John Hart officiating. The family will visit with friends
Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and
Friday for one hour prior at the church.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County
Veterans Team.
