Blanche Matkin Hoggan Hadley, 90, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012, at her home. She was well cared for by Ray, her husband of 23 years. Blanche was born April 9, 1922, in Fairview, Idaho, to George Quayle Matkin and Julia Constance Allen Matkin, the seventh of 13 children. She grew up in Swan Lake where she met her sweetheart Robert Hoggan from Preston, Idaho. Blanche married Robert Morn Hoggan on November 10, 1940. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had four children together. Bob passed away in 1983. She later married Wendell Christensen. They later divorced and she married Ray Hadley. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many capacities, as well as serving two missions. She also worked as a nurse and later as a secretary at the INL for many years. She worked to send all four of her children on missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved being with her family and enjoyed camping with them. She also was very talented with her hands, crocheting edges on handkerchiefs and numerous doilies. She enjoyed dancing and taking care of others. She is survived by her husband, Ray Hadley, of Idaho Falls; children, Jerry (Valene) Hoggan of Ammon, ID, Julia (Gordon) Loveland of Idaho Falls, ID, and Steve (Ruth) Hoggan of Brigham City, UT; daughter-in-law, Cecelia Hoggan of Soda Springs, ID; her brother, George Matkin of Mesa, AZ; sisters, Eloise Wyrouck of Hurricane, UT and Annie Stone of American Fork, UT; 18 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 stepchildren, Bob (Bev) Hadley of Glasgow, MT, Larry Hadley of Ogden, UT, and Adele (Ed) Harper and GeNene (Gary) Hansen, both of Idaho Falls, ID. Blanche was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Hoggan; son, Bruce; sisters, LaZelle Andersen, Leota Harris, and Hilda Leavitt; her brothers, Samuel, Conrad, Bert, LaVar, Fenton, and Andrew Matkin; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Ammon LDS 8th Ward, 2055 S. Ammon, with Bishop Allan Lundeen officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
