BLANCHE HOLMER FUNK
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Blanche LaRue Brown Holmer Funk, 86,
formerly of Macks Inn, died June 10, 2003, at the Idaho Falls Care Center.
She was born on September 10, 1916 at Monroe, Utah to Elbert
C. Brown and Chloe Gardner Brown. She grew up and attended schools in the
Arco/Pingree area and Idaho Falls.
On April 16, 1932, she married Roy Oscar Uno Holmer at
Logan, Utah. She lived in the New Sweden area for 55 years. Roy passed away
June 8, 1990. On May 9, 1998, she married Lewis William Funk in San Diego,
California. She worked as a salesperson in Ladies Wear at Shir-Lyn’s.
She was a charter member of F.A. Bridge Club, was a Doe in the Elks Lodge;
and served as PTA President of New Sweden Elementary.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. She enjoyed playing games, especially Bridge; bowling, traveling,
camping, and fishing.

Son: Roy LaMar Holmer, Everett, WA
Daughter: Sharon Kay McLaws, Grants Pass, OR
Brother: Robert George (Bobbetta) Brown, CA
Sister: Joy (E.J.) Biskup, Pollock Pines, CA
5 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 5 Step Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Horace, Donald, Rex, and Orvin;
and 4 sisters, Rayola, Bessie “V.R.”, Beulah “Kay”,
and Betty.
Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14,
2003, at New Sweden Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273
N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends on Friday
from 7-8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m., both at Wood Funeral Home
(273 N. Ridge).
