Blaine Rhodes

BLAINE RHODES IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Blaine Franklin Rhodes, 92, of Ammon, died June 11, 2007, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 26, 1915, in Rigby, Idaho, to William Eugene Rhodes and Sarah Grace Crowther Rhodes. He graduated from Rigby High School in 1934. On June 1, 1939, he married Lavonda Ricks. She preceded him in death in March of 1950. He married Lorene Peterson Curtis September 11, 1952. He worked for the Boise Payette Lumber Yard which later became Boise Cascade. He worked there 42 years and became Assistant Manager, a position he kept until he retired in 1976. He also worked for Boeing Aircraft and the State of Idaho. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Blaine enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, golfing, and traveling. Survivors include: Wife: Lorene Rhodes, Ammon, ID Daughter: Deanne (David) Williams, Orem, UT Son: Steven (Tami) Rhodes, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Kent (Carolyn) Curtis. Idaho Falls, ID 16 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavonda; a brother, Howard Rhodes; and two sisters, Lyle Streeper and Grace Jones. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward (3000 Central), with Bishop Stephen Jim Summers officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
