Blaine LaMar Garn, 84, passed away February 19, 2013, at his home at Lincoln Court Retirement Center. He was born April 15, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Martin Garn and Athailiah Verna McMillan. He attended school at Milo Elementary and Ucon Middle School. Blaine was a proud dairy farmer all of his life. He married Donna May Edwards May 2, 1946, and they were later divorced. On April 13, 1975, he married Stella Winter in Las Vegas, Nevada. Blaine was a former member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed shooting pool, dancing and yard work. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as Ward Dance Director. Blaine is survived by his children, Son, Steve Garn of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Roger (Shellie) Garn of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter, Terri (Scott) Heilesen of Idaho Falls, ID; 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mack, Kay and Reed Garn, and three sisters, Verna Wilding, Beth Ray, and Gilda Joy, who was stillborn. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Scott Earl of the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 2nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wood East Side. Burial will follow at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to Lincoln Court and One Source Hospice for their tender loving care prior to his passing.
