Billy Holmes

Billy Lansing Holmes, 69, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away November 23, 2011, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living. He was under the care of his wife and Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Bill was born August 21, 1942, in Antioch, California, to Oscar Lansing Holmes and Dorothy Lee Neely Holmes. He graduated from Pacifica High School in Bay Point, California. On January 10, 1969, he married Linda Elaine Caudel in Concord, California. Together they raised three sons. Before moving to the Idaho Falls area, they lived in San Jose and Pittsburg, California. Bill worked as a draftsman and as a construction engineer and manager at the INL. He retired from the Site in 1998. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 38 years. He loved and was always in service to the AA program. Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, Dutch oven cooking, golfing, and spending time with his family. Survivors include: Wife, Linda Holmes of Ammon, ID; Son, Richard (Nancy) Holmes of Los Alamos, NM; Son, Ryan (Tara) Holmes of Altadena, CA; Son, Randy (Sarah) Holmes of Lehi, UT; Five Grandchildren: Justin, Emily, Logan, Braeden, and Porter; and Brother, Thomas (Carol Sue ) Holmes of Tampa, FL He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Muir and Mary Turner. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Wood East Side (963 South Ammon Road). The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at Wood East Side. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bill’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 910 West 5th Avenue, Suite 256, Spokane, WA 99204, or to the local hospice of your choice.
