Bill Nelson

William Dean Nelson, 71, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 28, 2023, at home.

Bill was born May 22, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Donald Ritchie Nelson and Margaret Betty Kronberg Nelson. He grew up and attended schools in Lincoln, Idaho, and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended Votech where he graduated and became a Radiation Technician.

On August 28, 1976, he married Kathryn Mae Ashton in Idaho Falls. Bill and Kathryn made their home in Idaho Falls where Bill worked as a Radiation Technician for the INL.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and most of all, spending time with family.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mae Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Hawks of Jackson, WY; daughter, Amanda (Logan) Bullock of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Charvel Warren of Boise, ID; brother, Dan (Melinda) Nelson of Boise, ID; brother, Roger (Jerri) Nelson of Kuna, ID; sister, Betty (Todd) Simon of Ammon, ID; and 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Nelson; daughter, Jolene Nelson; and brother, Robert Nelson.

A gathering will be held in Bill’s honor from 2-3:25 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Army Guard at 3:30 p.m.
