Bill Gunnell

William “Bill” J Gunnell, 40, Idaho Falls, passed away April 13, 2025, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. After valiant efforts and tests, he passed away with no determined cause.

Bill was born March 19, 1985, in Anaheim, California, to William “Bill” Y Gunnell and Florance Marilynn Jensen Gunnell. He grew up and attended schools in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and graduated from Bethany Christian High School. He also has been attending Maharishi International University and planned to graduate June 2025, with a bachelor’s degree in Positive Psychology. He was working extremely hard to meet very specific goals. Those goals consisted of finishing his bachelor’s and traveling to graduate school in Oklahoma with his family. With his degrees and personal knowledge, he and his wife were making plans to open an inpatient substance abuse treatment center.

On September 8, 2012, he married the love of his life Keshia Ann Miles in Firth, Idaho, by the river. Bill and Keshia made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Bill worked as a Behavioral Health Tech for Stewards of Recovery.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He grew his faith one step at a time. Through his struggles he found solace through meditation. He found much peace when out in nature and especially next to the river. His hobbies always were intertwined with his family, which included: rock hounding, boating, nature hikes, rock wall climbing, and games.

Bill is survived by his wife, Keshia Gunnell; sons, William “Will” Ray Gunnell and Louis “Loui” J Gunnell; mother, Florance Marilynn Gunnell; siblings, Marty Gunnell (Louann Gunnell), Steven Gunnell (Judy Gunnell), Wendi “Nuni” Hayden (Daniel Hayden), and Gary Gunnell (Hiroe Gunnell).

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Y Gunnell, and nephews, Dallon Hayden and James Gunnell.

Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Yoga Wellness Connection, 451 River Parkway, Idaho Falls, ID 83402, following a light luncheon at 2:30 p.m. at the Fox Hollow Ward building, 2345 W 17th S, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
