Betty Lou Wever Born of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 12, 2025.
Betty was born on July 28, 1932, to Vada Dorothy Neuschafer Wever and Everett Floyd Wever in Utica, Missouri. Being the second child of Vada and Everett, she was blessed with the love of her other siblings: Gene, Bob, Susan, and Tim. Betty graduated from South High School in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1950.
On February 18, 1951, she married Raymond Richard Born in Omaha, Nebraska. Within this union were six children, three were born and three were chosen, Raymond, Debbie, Randall, Buffy, Robert, and Brian. Betty and Ray made their home in Ammon, Idaho.
Betty was employed in several businesses in the Idaho Falls area, notably as a secretary for David Steed and Associates, Bonneville High School, and the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. She also had some small businesses of her own in Betty’s Cherishables and Re-Born Treasures.
Betty enjoyed many and various activities in her life, including antiquing and antique car collecting, especially vintage Ford Thunderbirds. She owned several T-birds including a 1977, 1962, 1959, and her treasured 1957. She was a member of the Eastern Idaho Vintage Motor Car Club of America. She loved to dance and spent many special years with her beloved daughter, Debbie, in the “Betty Anderson Dancers” club.
In the late 1960s, Betty traded a portable TV set to a neighbor friend for a small organ. This ignited another passion for Betty, organs and organ music. Over the years, she took lessons and traded for a better organ every few years eventually trading seven times to her “top of the line” Lowery Organ, a Sterling Edition.
Betty loved poetry and authored numerous poems of her own relating to current events, loved ones, and the life she lived in Southeastern Idaho.
Betty is survived by her son, Raymond Born of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Randall (Joyce) Born of Centerville, UT; daughter, Buffy (Gary) Crowell of Boise, ID; son, Robert Williams of Boise, ID; son, Brian Williams of Oolagah, OK; brothers, Bob Wever of Rapid City, SD and Tim Wever of Jefferson City, MO. Betty had 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 26 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Born; daughter, Debbie Born Kalakay; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Evon Williams; daughter-in-law, Junie Vossler Born; parents, Everett and Vada; brother, Gene Wever; and sister, Sue Wever Feickert.
