Betty Haderlie Shaw, 84, of Ucon, passed away December 13, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, with her loving husband and family by her side. Betty was born June 8, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Henry Walter Haderlie and Ruth Jones Ward Haderlie. She grew up and attended schools in Iona and received her GED from Idaho Falls High School. On November 14, 1950, she married Robert Elmer Shaw in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born three children, Cynthia, Cheryl and Rodney. Betty and Robert made their home in Ucon, Idaho. Betty worked as a beautician for many years in Idaho Falls. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. She was a faithful visiting teacher and in 1999 she served in the Church cannery. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, watching wrestling, and watching and attending Utah Jazz games. She loved her family. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Robert Shaw of Ucon, ID, daughter, Cynthia (Jan) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Cheryl (Kent) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Rodney (Camille Pond) Shaw of Shelley, ID, sister, Ruby McGavin of Ammon, ID, brother, Verl (Fran) Haderlie of Iona, ID, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Frank Haderlie, sisters, Thelma Keller and Grace Denning, granddaughter, Alexa Rae Shaw, and great-granddaughter, Lanieanne Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017, at the Ucon LDS Monument Ward, 10854 North 41 East, with Bishop Justin Pugmire officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
