Betty Schwabedissen

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Bohi Schwabedissen, 78, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, but we rejoice knowing that on October 1, 2012, she went into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was born July 23, 1934, at her home in Salem, Idaho, to Hyrum and Gertrude McMinn Bohi. She grew up in Salem and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in Sugar City, Idaho. She married Paul William Schwabedissen November 25, 1953, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Betty worked as a secretary at the reactor test site, now known as the INL, before starting her family. Once her boys were all in school she worked for a number of years in the school cafeterias. She enjoyed being involved in various functions with her boys. This included scouting and being a room mother. Betty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and held many positions within the church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, staying at their cabin in Island Park, and most of all her family and grandchildren. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband, Paul Schwabedissen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three sons, Randy (Clereece) Schwabedissen of Vancouver, Washington, Brent Schwabedissen and Kevin (Susan) Schwabedissen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; six grandchildren, Heather (Vince) Wilcox, Elana (Jacob) Dunford, Jessie Schwabedissen, Justin Schwabedissen, Clint Schwabedissen, Amanda Schwabedissen; three great-grandchildren, Caylee Wilcox, Logan Wilcox, Ian Wilcox, and baby Dunford (due in December); her sister, Grace Morgan Fullmer of Sugar City, Idaho; and her sister-in-law, Mildred (Roy) Schwabedissen of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Bohi; a grandson, Json Schwabedissen; and brother-in-law, Roy Schwabedissen. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your favorite charity, or Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran, Idaho Falls, ID 83401, or online at www.hospiceofeasternidaho.com, who provided exceptional care for Betty these last few months. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 237 North Water Avenue, with Pastor Brenda Sene officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
