Betty June (Rumsey) Hansen

Betty June Hansen, 97, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away September 21, 2023, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community.

Betty was born April 1, 1926, in Saint Anthony, Idaho, to Earl J. and Alice Marie Rumsey. She grew up and attended schools in Saint Anthony, Idaho, and graduated from Saint Anthony High School.

On April 1, 1957, she married the love of her life, Lee Hansen in Idaho Falls. Betty and Lee made their home in Idaho Falls where Betty worked as a banker for First Interstate Bank, where she first met Lee.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Idaho Falls where she enjoyed being a Deacon and Elder. Betty loved watching birds outside her windows, gardening, camping, and traveling with her late husband, Lee. She enjoyed chatting and listening while others shared their stories and could strike up a conversation with anyone and loved to visit with friends and family.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Lee (Mark) Baldwin of Redmond, WA; sister, Colleen (Clayton) Rudd of Boise, ID; and granddaughter, Brittnay Baldwin of Kirkland, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Rumsey; and husband, Lee Hansen.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Pastor Phil officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
