Betty Ann Davies Humphries, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 19, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Betty was born December 6, 1929, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to George Lynn Davies and Mary Luceal Cleverley Davies. She grew up and attended schools in Milo and Shelton and graduated from Ucon High School. She also attended BYU night school. On August 23, 1945, she married William Dean Humphries in Salt Lake City, Utah. To this union were born four children, William, Kathy, Sheryl, and Daron. Later, they adopted Scott. Betty and Dean made their home in Coltman, Idaho, where Betty taught in Special Education at Bonneville High School. She later opened her own pre-school in her home. Dean passed away on January 31, 2014. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many organizations within the church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, baking, genealogy and family history, teaching, piano, and dancing. Betty is survived by her son, William Chris Humphries of Moorpark, CA; daughter, Kathy Ann (Brad) Nield of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Sheryl Kay (Richard) Lidyard of Ammon, ID; son, Daron D (Sandi) Humphries of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Scott D Humphries of Idaho Falls, ID; 24 grandchildren and 71 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Larry L. Davies, grandson, Shane Dale Hurley, and a great grandson, Teran Dean Hurley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Coltman LDS 1st Ward, 12448 North 5th East, with Bishop Ronald Perrenoud officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
