SUN CITY, CA -- Betty Adele Wren Gifford, 89, formerly of Idaho Falls, died January 24, 2010, in Sun City, California, at the home of her daughter.
She was born August 1, 1920, in Conart Valley, Idaho, to Theron Field Wren and Eltha Marie Ricks Wren. She grew up and attended schools in the area.
On May 27, 1939, she married Lewis Laverl Gifford in Kimball, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 27, 1959. Her husband preceded her in death on February 6, 2002. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed fishing, making quilts, crocheting, and doing crafts.

Son: Jerry Laverl Gifford, Kamiah, ID
Son: Carleon Jay Gifford, Nuevo, CA
Daughter: Beverly Gifford French, Spokane, WA
Daughter: Shirley Gifford, Sun City, CA
Brother: Claude Field Wren, Riverton, ID
Sister: Colleen Wood, Chubbuck, ID
10 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis L. Gifford; a son, Marvin Lewis Gifford; nine brothers and two sisters.
The family will meet with friends on Saturday, January 30, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. Funeral Services will follow at 11:30 a.m, at Wood Fneral Home, with Jay Gifford conducting. Burial will be in the Woodville Cemetery.
