Betty Lou Fearnow, 87, of Ammon, passed away September 26, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1924, at Kansas City, Missouri. Within a week she was adopted by Daniel F. Wilson and Jessie G. Baker Wilson and taken to Hinton, Oklahoma. The Wilsons had two sons, one in college and one in high school, so a new baby was a surprise. Betty attended schools in Hinton, graduating from high school in 1942. She was an accomplished pianist. She attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman. On March 27, 1943, she married Ralph Eugene Fearnow of Oklahoma City at her parent’s home in Hinton. They adopted two children. In 1951, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where Ralph was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. at INEEL. Betty was employed 24 years, from 1961 to 1985, at the Idaho Falls Public Library. Betty is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph Fearnow; a daughter, Judy (Kay) Johnson; granddaughter, Paula Johnson; grandson, Joshua Johnson; and 3 great grandchildren, Shawn Campbell and Tyler & Kaylie Ellis. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Eugene Fearnow and a granddaughter, Charlene M. Hitz Empey. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:00 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to the services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be a Fielding Memorial Park.
