Click Here To View Memorial Video Betty Jean Rust Sorensen Chidester, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 17, 2014, at her home. Betty was born January 11, 1926, in Logan, Utah, to Edward Rust and Edna Worley Rust. She grew up and attended schools in Cache Valley Area and graduated from Logan High School. In 1944, she married Dorel A. Sorensen at Logan, Utah. To this union were born four children, John, Rodney, Deborah, and Brenda. Betty worked for Rockwell International Aircraft and Mode O’Day Dress Factory. Dorel passed away in 2008. In 1957, she married Eugene R. Chidester at Las Vegas, Nevada. Betty and Eugene made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Betty worked at Motel West for 20 years and was an Avon Representative. She was employed at the Elks Lodge. Eugene passed away January 6, 1998. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, and baseball. Betty is survived by son, John D. & Nan Cha Sorensen of Logan, UT; son, Rodney K. & Shirley Sorensen of Gray, GA; daughter, Deborah J. Given of Edmonds, WA; daughter, Brenda L. & Ed Crumley of Blackfoot, ID; step-daughter, Linda Chidester of Ogden, UT; step-daughter, Karen & Jim Brown of Harrisville, UT; sister, Helen & Fritz Stettler of Logan, UT; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, her brother, Jack Rust, and a grandson, Shawn Sorensen. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Ammon Cemetery, 5226 East Sunnyside Road. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
