Betty Gerrard Cate

BETTY CATE OMAHA, NE -- Betty Lou Gerrard Cate, 80, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away February 9, 2006, at Brookstone Nursing Center in Omaha. She was born February 11, 1925, in Taylor, Idaho, to Malvern Ephraim Gerrard and Lillian Wadsworth Gerrard. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She completed her nurses training during World War II at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls and was a registered nurse. She married Sydney L. Cate June 30, 1948, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a homemaker and mother. She loved to golf, do needlepoint, and loved to travel. Surviving are Her Husband: Sydney L. Cate of Omaha, NE Daughter: Sandra L. (Robert) Gumpert of San Francisco, CA Son: Scott (Patricia) Cate of Potomac, MD Daughter: Rebecca (Mike Cavin) Cate of Vienna, VA Son: Christopher Cate of San Diego, CA Sister: Jean (Sterling) Jensen of Idaho Falls Sister: Marilyn Quass of Pinole, CA Brother-In-Law, Elwyn Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID 4 Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a sister, June Meyer. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at the Taylor Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
