Betty Jean Waters Campbell, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, at her home following a brave battle with cancer. Betty Jean was born September 5, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to her loving parents, Norman Lamond “Monte” Waters and Betty Jean Anderson Waters. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School, where she met the love of her life, Wade Allen Campbell. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward in March of 1962. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in July of 1981. Much of her time was spent helping Wade to farm in their earlier years of marriage. She loved riding horses, trail riding in the mountains, and even tried her hand at barrel racing. She held various church callings and loved being with the youth, attending girls camp, and participating or teaching in Relief Society. She enjoyed sewing and all of her children and several married grandchildren have been blessed with a homemade quilt for their weddings. Betty Jean was employed at Yost Office Systems for many years and currently was employed at the Bank of Commerce. She loved talking to people and had many friends. She loved shopping and finding treasures in her “laughing place,” the Deseret Industries. She was always thinking of others and enjoyed serving her family. She loved her family and spent countless wonderful hours with her grandchildren. They were her most precious gift. Her favorite place to be with family was at the cabin in Island Park. Survivors are: Husband: Wade Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Todd (Carla) Campbell of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Kimberly (Ralph) Clayton, Los Alamos, NM Daughter: Kristy (Quinn) Mortensen, Shelley, ID Stepmother: Donna Waters Brother: Gary (Linda) Waters Sister: Kay (Don) Ball Brother: Monte “Butch” (Sherry) Waters; and Sister: Sandy Herrera, all of Idaho Falls Betty Jean has 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, with two more on the way; and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Marley and Bernita Campbell. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Garfield LDS 1st Ward (71 North 3700 East, Rigby). The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Betty Jean was so proud of her son, brother, and grandchildren who served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Missionary Fund, 15 East South Temple - 2nd Floor East, Salt Lake City, UT 84150.
