BETTY BROWNING
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Betty Joyce Browning, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away on November 24, 2008, at Life Care Center.
She was born November 7, 1932, in Rexburg, Idaho, the youngest child of Emil Abile Browning and Ida Rosetta Jensen Browning. She grew up and attended schools in the area.
Betty went to work as a live-in nanny for the Robert Bauchman family of Idaho Falls in 1953. During the twelve years she lived with them, the Bauchmans became her family, and the loving relationship she had with them continued until her death.
She worked for Sears in Idaho Falls for 28 years, from 1959 to 1987. While there, she enjoyed the companionship of many wonderful co-workers, and formed a life-long relationship with dear friends, Ruth and Ramona Ritchie. She taught herself how to sharpen knives and blades, and offered her services in the community for many years.
Betty loved animals, and they loved her. She was a dedicated supporter of animal causes, including Best Friends, of Kanab, Utah.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had a firm belief that the trials she encountered in this life would be replaced with a joyous reunion with loved ones in the life to come. Betty was a loving and generous person, and always tried to do that which was right.
She is survived by a sister, Zola Averett, of Federal Way, Washington, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Browning of Salt Lake City, Utah, and three sisters: Vera Browning Isom of Salt Lake City, Myrtle Browning Snow of Shelly, Idaho, and Norma Browning Davis of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Friends and family will gather to share memories on Saturday, November 29, 2008, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. There will be no viewing. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Ucon Cemetery.
