Betty Jean Benjamin, 93, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice and United Energy Workers Healthcare.

Betty was born September 17, 1932, in Shelley, Idaho. Her Parents were William Wesley Mitchell and Olive Myrtle Betty Mitchell.

She grew up and attended schools in Shelley, Idaho and she graduated from Shelley High School. She also attended Idaho Falls Business College.

On December 12,1952, she married Joe Birdsall Benjamin in Idaho Falls at St. John's Episcopal church, now known as St. Luke's. Betty and Joe made their home in Idaho Falls, where they raised their six children. Betty worked for Basic American Foods in the human resources department.

Betty was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Episcopal, where she had many friends. She enjoyed sewing and baking but most of all, she loved her Family. She was a very devoted Mother. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Island Park, Idaho.

Betty is survived by her six children, Douglas and Lisa Benjamin, of Bellingham WA; Suzen Benjamin Naughton, of Idaho Falls ID; Michelle Benjamin Hales of Vancouver, WA; Lisa Benjamin Mullinix, of Idaho Falls ID; Wesley and Sophie Benjamin, of Twin Falls ID; Brian and Georganne Benjamin of Boise ID. Betty was blessed with twenty grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Benjamin: her parents, William and Olive Mitchell; and her five siblings.

The family will visit with friends Thursday evening, August 13, 2026, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 270 N. Placer Avenue, with the Reverend Akinpelu James Lawal officiating. Following the service, burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow after at St. Luke's.
