Betty was born November 23, 1919, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Joseph Morley and Astrid Johannessen Morley. She attended Riverside and Emerson Elementary Schools, O.E. Bell Jr. High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1937.
Betty was married to Paul W. Ahlstrom, Sr. on February 5, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Betty was a devoted wife and homemaker. Together, she and Paul raised ten children. Her family has always been her greatest source of joy. Paul passed away October 26, 1999.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty served as a Primary teacher while her children were growing up, later as Primary and Relief Society Presidents. Betty served for 15 years with her husband as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She and her husband Paul served a mission in the Chicago Illinois Temple from late 1992 to 1994.
Throughout her life Betty supported community cultural, musical, and political events. She was an avid Idaho Falls Tigers and BYU Cougars fan.
