Alice Beth Cope, passed away August 20, 2011, in Wasilla, Alaska. She was born April 9, 1918, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Albert Amos Sant and Mable Joy Harris Sant. Beth grew up and attended schools in the Idaho Falls area. She was married to Lowell F. Jeppson in 1936 and two daughters were born to their union, Lois Joy (Zweifel) and Alice Elaine (Miles). They were later divorced. She married Ray Cope in 1946 and they had two sons, David Ray Cope and John P. Cope. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in l979. Beth and Ray spent most of their married life in the Mud Lake area. Earlier in their life they operated a farm in Terreton and later a motel in Mud Lake. Due to Ray's health they moved to the Boise Valley in 1982 to be near their sons. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served an Extraction Mission for her church after their move to Nampa. Beth was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a fine seamstress and her children and grandchildren were the recipients of her beautiful handmade quilts. She moved to Moscow, Idaho, in 1995, to live near her daughter, Elaine. In 2004 she moved to Wasilla, Alaska, to live with her son, John. John and his wife, Shelli, lovingly cared for Beth until her death. She is survived by her daughters, Lois Zweifel and Elaine (Paul) Miles and John (Shelli) Cope, 20 grandchildren, 59 great -grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cope, and a son, David Cope, two grandsons, and her parents, and three baby sisters who died shortly after birth. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends beginning at 10 a.m. at Wood East Side. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
