Bessie "Betty" Strong

Bessie Myrtle "Betty" Vickers Strong, 93, of Pocatello, passed away February 21, 2017, at the Idaho State Veterans Home.

Betty was born August 14, 1923, in Dalles, Oregon, to Robert Arthur Vickers and Bessie Lucile Waide Vickers. She grew up and attended schools in Oregon and graduated from high school there.

On June 18, 1965, she married Leslie Leonard Strong in Sacramento, California. Betty was a wife, mother, and homemaker and did some office and temp work in her younger years. Leslie passed away July 11, 2014.

Betty was a Christian. She enjoyed reading and painting.

Betty is survived by daughter, Gail (Buc Rogers) Birdsong of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Joseph Birdsong of Tucson, AZ, son, Timothy G. Birdsong of Shelton, WA; 3 grandchildren, Samantha (Brad) Silvius, TJ Birdsong, and Miranda Birdsong (children of Timothy Birdsong), one great granddaughter, Tayah Silvius (daughter of Samantha and Brad Silvius), and two step grandsons, RJ and Matt Rogers (sons of Gail Birdsong and Buc Rogers).

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
