BESSIE M. BUTLER
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Bessie Mae Cranford Butler, 86, of Idaho
Falls, died January 24, 2004, at Aspen Grove Assisted Living.
She was born January 25, 1917 at Wichita, Kansas to Alva
Emerson Cranford and Rosa Elsa Harris Cranford. The family moved to Colorado
where she attended schools.
On February 21, 1933, she married Gifford G. Butler in
Rifle, Colorado. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1974. She worked
at Liberty Cafe and then Bonneville Restaurant. She was also an accomplished
writer and wrote the words to “Whispering Pines”.
She enjoyed embroidery, tri-chem painting, word searches,
reading, camping and fishing. She especially loved being with her family
and enjoying big family dinners.

Son: George Alvie (Martha) Butler, Buxton, ME
Daughter: Virginia (Dean) Cook, Talkeetna, AK
Daughter: Goldena (Faral) Covert, Idaho Falls, ID
11 Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, James, Gifford Eugene, and Daniel
Butler; three grandchildren; three brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 30,
2004, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge), with Chaplain Marv Eld officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7-8:30
p.m. and for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
