BERTHA BURKE
IONA, ID -- Bertha Stone Burke, 91, of Idaho Falls, died
August 7, 2004, at her son’s home.
She was born September 21, 1912, at Riddle, Idaho, to
Richard Bluford Stone and Barbara Anna Portlock Stone. She grew up and
attended schools in the area.
On April 18, 1934, she married Floyd Burke in Jackson
Hole, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized February 6, 1959, in the
Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She also
worked as an Avon Distributor, campground supervisor in Flaming Gorge,
Utah, and for Roger Brothers Potato Warehouse in Idaho Falls.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and served in the Relief Society and Mutual organizations. She
enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting.

Daughter: Jacqualin Ann (Jim) VanCott, Las Vegas, NV
Daughter: Flora (Doyle) Andrew, N. Ogden, UT
Sister: Ritchie Ford, Galveston, TX
22 Grandchildren, 45 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; and two sons, Gary Lee
Burke and DeLoss K. Burke.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Wednesday, August
11, 2004, at the Iona LDS 2nd Ward (Iona Road & Ririe Highway), with
Rick Denning, a counselor in the Bishopric, officiating.
The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6:30-8
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and Wednesday for one
hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
