Biography

Loren Bert Brown, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Mount Vernon Assisted Living in Idaho Falls. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Bert was born July 27, 1924, in Iona, Idaho, to Lorenzo Dea Brown and Josephine Young Brown. He grew up and attended schools in Iona. On May 18, 1945, he married Gladys Louise Williams in Dillon, Montana. Together they raised three children. Bert worked as a farmer and at the U&I Sugar Factory in Idaho Falls. He also worked at JMJ Elevator. Bert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed riding horses and spending time at his ranch with family and friends. He was a member of the Iona Posse for over 20 years. Survivors include: Wife: Gladys Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Donald Dea Brown of Eugene, OR; Son: J. Lynn Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Shannon K. Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother: Tommy J. (Pearl) Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother: Harold Brown of Las Vegas, NV; Brother: Garth Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister: Racheal McGregor of Boise, ID. 4 Grandchildren: Shane Brown, Lance Brown, BJ Camphouse, and Jake Johnson; 2 Great Grandchildren: Olivia Johnson and Ryker Johnson; He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Marion Butte, Myra Tarquinio, Bonnie Schlief, and Bertha Keller. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aspen Home Health & Hospice for the tender care they showed Bert and the kindness and support they gave Gladys. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, both visitations at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
