Bert Carl Bolinder, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 26, 2016, at his home.
Bert was born March 31, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Jon Albert Bolinder and Ester Kristina Larsson Bolinder. He grew up in the area and attended O.E. Bell Junior High. He joined the U.S. Army and served as a Private during World War II.
On November 8, 1947, he married Edith Ethel Barnes in Montana. To this union were born three children, Brent, Beth, and Bruce. Bert and Edith made their home in Idaho Falls, where Bert worked as a meat cutter and in maintenance for School District #93.
Bert enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and gardening.
Bert is survived by his son, Brent Bolinder of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Beth (Rodney) Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Bruce (Tina) Bolinder of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Alice (Jay) McKinzie of Idaho Falls, ID; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and four brothers, Eddie Bolinder, Willy Bolinder, Oscar Bolinder, and Pete Bolinder.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
