Berniece Rasmussen Stacey, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 25, 2015, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Berniece was born April 3, 1931, in Garfield, Idaho, to John Fielding Rasmussen and Sylvia Florence Peterson Rasmussen. She grew up and attended schools in Terreton and graduated from Roberts High School where she learned to play the violin. She also graduated from Idaho Falls Business College.

On August 24, 1950, she married Farrel Jay Stacey in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. To this union were born three sons, Ronnel, Douglas, and Curtis. Berniece and Farrel made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Berniece worked as a secretary for Pioneer Equipment, as a cook at Paxman’s Restaurant, and as a teller and later as a loan officer at East Idaho Credit Union for 26 years and from which she retired in 1993. Farrel passed away July 13, 2014.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a counselor in the Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary organizations. She also served as a Sunday School teacher, visiting teacher, and compassionate service leader throughout her life. Berniece and Farrel served a mission as baptismal font supervisors in the Idaho Falls Temple. She enjoyed family get togethers, cooking for her family and friends, going for rides, especially in the fall to see the beautiful nature’s colors, and spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She made beautiful scrapbooks for each of her grandchildren, including her favorite memories with each of them, and their family history.

Berniece is survived by her son, Ronnel J. (Janet) Stacey of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Douglas E. (Marcela) Stacey of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Curtis J. (Alana) Stacey of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Rose Marie Giles; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Mary Jane Cook, and brother, Don J. Rasmussen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward, 651 Gladstone, with Matt Bishop officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to service at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.

Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: There is not a Friday night visitation.
