BERNIECE PETERSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID - Berniece Petersen, 81, of Idaho Falls, died May 10, 2003, at the Life Care Center. She was February 16, 1922 in Rigby, Idaho to Henry Hill and Elnora Ann Ellis Hill. Her family moved to Swan Valley where she attended Fidelity School and then Idaho Falls High School. On May 16, 1939, she married Merlin J. Petersen in Idaho Falls. She worked at the Idaho Department Store for 16 years and was head of the children's department at the time of her retirement. She was a member of the BPOE Does. She was a member of The Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and crocheting. She especially loved spending time with her 2 grandchildren, Christian (Paige) Petersen and Matthew (fiance: Emily Corkill) Petersen. Surviving are: Son: Stanley J. (Karen) Petersen, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Lloyd Hill, Boise, ID Brother: Merlin Hill, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Ervin Hill, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Max Hill, Caldwell, ID Sister: Deon Hemingway, UT She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003, at the Wood East Side Chapel (963 S. Ammon), with Lloyd Hill officiating. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood East Side (963 S. Ammon). Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
