Bernice L. Edwards, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away on February 9, 2013 at the home of her daughter. She was under the care of One Source Hospice.
Bernice was born February 22, 1928, in Filer, Idaho to Raymond Wright and Olive Yvonne Rockcliff Wright. She attended school at Filer High School. In her early years she worked as a telephone operator. On June 30, 1947 she married DeLoy Eugeen Edwards in Elko, Nevada.She was a homemaker. Bernice & Deloy lived in the Dubois area for eighteen years, retiring in the Boise area. After Deloy’s death, Bernice moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho to be near her daughters.
Bernice was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Bernice was most involved with her grandchildren and also enjoyed reading, sewing, beadwork, quilting, and puzzles.
Bernice is survived by
Brother: Paul Wright of Boise, ID;
Brother: David Wright of Kansas City, KS;
Daughter: Jewel (Tim) Hoopes of Shelley, ID;
Daughter: Kristine (Kenneth) Russell of Idaho Falls;
five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Raymond, Robert, and Kenneth Wright, and a sister Doris Deahl.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge), Idaho Falls, Idaho, with Bishop Bruce Machen officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 to 10:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
