Ben Burtenshaw

Ben Lamar Burtenshaw, 68, of Beryl, Utah, passed away July 6, 2026, at his home from symptoms of a heart attack, but pending autopsy results.

Ben was born February 15, 1958, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Alfred Burtenshaw and Marlene Theuson Burtenshaw. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School.

Ben made his home in Idaho Falls, Arco, and Utah, where he worked as a landlord and an entrepreneur.

He enjoyed socializing, music, chopping down wood and trees, but above all, he loved the outdoors and being in the desert.

Ben is survived by his daughters, Rose Gonzalez and Deseray Burtenshaw of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Rebecca Burtenshaw of Ogden, UT; sons, Shane and Jeremy; siblings, Alan Burtenshaw, Deborah Allen, Craig Burtenshaw, and Jeff Burtenshaw; and father, Bill Burtenshaw.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Theuson Burtenshaw.

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10-11 a.m., a one-hour viewing will take place while family will visit with friends at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, 12463 East 129 North, Rigby, Idaho.
