BEATRICE MCGAVIN
IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO -- Beatrice B. McGavin, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 16, 2009, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from complications of cancer.
She was born on July 25, 1925, in Idaho Falls to Mariner Bair and Maggie Oneata Thorpe Bair. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. She then attended Utah State University in Logan.
On February 14, 1946, she married Orvin G. McGavin in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 14, 1947. Beatrice was a devoted mother and homemaker and also assisted her husband at First Street Plumbing after her children were grown.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving in the Primary and also served in other organizations. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, and especially loved her family and spending time with them.

Daughter: Beth (James) Waite, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Marcene (Vance) Campbell, Meridian, ID
Brother: Von Bair, Bethany, CT
Sister: Barbara Hawks, Moab, UT
11 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild
She was preceded in death by her sons, Wayne McGavin and Kenneth McGavin; brother, Glen Bair; and sister, Veloy Kunz.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS Fox Hollow Ward, 2345 West 17th South with Bishop Don Dahl officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
