Barry Mcalevy

Martin Blair “Barry” McAlevy, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 17, 2023, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Barry was born in Shelley, Idaho, on May 15, 1950, to Lewis Edgar McAlevy and Emma Clove McAlevy. He was the youngest of five children.

On June 30, 1983, Barry married the love of his life, Carolyn Thornock, in Wyoming. They made their life together in Idaho Falls and were happily married for 41 years.

Barry worked as a mechanic most of his life. He loved the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, camping, snow machining, and motorcycling. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McAlevy of Idaho Falls; son, Allen (Becky); daughters, Angela, Brandy (Shane), and Charity; brother, Marlin; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristy; son, Shawn; sisters, Jessie Jane and Neva Jean; brother, Lewis Jr.; and granddaughter, Lindsay.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Fielding Memorial Park.
