Barbara Thompson 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 6, 2016.

She was born March 19, 1929, in Logan, Utah to Samuel Leo Bankhead and Harriett Taylor Bankhead. She grew up in Cache Valley and graduated from South Cache High School. Barbara and Max Lynn Thompson were married on August 28, 1947 in the Salt Lake City, Utah L.D.S. temple. To this union were born two daughters, Sheri and SuzAnne.

Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed travel, cooking, baking, candy making, gardening, shopping, and really loved The Utah Jazz NBA basketball team. She loved to watch most all basketball and was known to get pretty feisty while watching. Secretly she would have loved to be on Dancing with the Stars as Derek's partner.

Barbara had many friends from many walks of life, and was generous, kind and appreciative. Always up for a new adventure or a movie, she would try new things with great anticipation, except Mexican food. She loved to shop, dress up and invest in clothes and shoes. She seldom ever got tired while shopping . . . a real girl!

She retired from the Mountain Bell after 35 years of service and then quickly changed careers where she could have flexibility and more fun. She became one of the first Mary Kay Sales Directors and Pink Cadillac achievers in the state. In her 40 plus years with this company she traveled the world and became a true legacy leader and loved by many. Her joy? - the 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren!

She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Leinweber-Thompson of South Ogden, Ut. daughter, SuzAnne Brothers-Varley of Castle Rock, Co. brother, Leo Spence Bankhead of Ogden, Ut. sister, Lois Faye Leishman of Ogden, Ut. brother, Dee Bankhead of St. Louis, Mo. 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by husband Max Thompson; brother Claire Bankhead; and grandson, Jason Butikofer.
