Barbara Samson

Barbara Jean Samson, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 28, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. Barbara was born March 10, 1930, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Robert Hamilton Gourley and Ellen Louise Brown Gourley. She grew up and attended schools in Rigby and Idaho Falls, Idaho. She married Lamont Radford October 14, 1946, in Dillon, Montana. They had four children, Bruce, Kam, Gail, and Arthur. Lamont passed away October 12, 1972. On April 14, 1973, she married Robert William Samson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He had three children, David, Steven, and Janet. Barbara was a homemaker and mother and worked as a cook for District #93 at Fairview School. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was active in Relief Society and Family History. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Gem and Mineral Society. She enjoyed rock hunting, flowers, gardening, and reading. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert Samson of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Bruce (Connie) Radford of Idaho Falls, ID, Daughter, Kam (Doug) Cole-Long of Blackfoot, ID, Son, Arthur Radford of Idaho Falls, ID, Son, David (Debbie) Samson of Idaho Falls, ID, Son, Steven (Teresa) Samson of Idaho Falls, ID, Daughter, Janet (Lonnie) Swift of Shelley, ID, Brother, Doug (Tina) Gourley of Burbank, WA, Brother, Dallas Gourley of Arizona, Brother, Laverl (Berniece) Noreen of Rigby, ID . 21 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Lamont, a daughter, Gail Ann Radford, a grandson, Travis Samson, and two brothers, Robert Gourley and Dale Noreen. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman 1st Ward, 12448 North 5th East, with Bishop Blair Sautter officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
