Barbara Rae Leavitt, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 19, 2026, at her home. She was under the care of Symbii Home Health and Hospice and her loving family.
Barbara was born March 1, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Erastus John Roberts and Marjorie Lee Quigley Roberts. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She also attended Ricks College where she studied music.
On August 30, 1956, she married Paul Wheeler in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were blessed with three children. On September 16, 1974, she married Philip Neldon Leavitt in Wyoming. Barbara and Philip made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Barbara worked as a secretary in various real estate and medical offices. Philip passed away in 2006.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara enjoyed playing the piano and organ and played for various organizations. She loved to sing. Barbara sang as part of a trio for the radio and at various functions. She also enjoyed singing as a member of the Idaho Falls Choralaires and the Medi-Larks. Barbara also loved to travel and had an opportunity to visit various countries.
Barbara is survived by her son, David Wheeler of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Doug Wheeler of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jana (Clay) Walker of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Susan (Ron) Lindsay of Blackfoot, ID; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip Neldon Leavitt; and brother, Gary Roberts.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 South Yellowstone Highway.
