BARBARA A. KNUTSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Barbara Ruth Anderson Knutson, 77, of Idaho Falls, died June 13, 2002, at her home.
She was born June 10, 1925, at Ogden, Utah to Lorin C. Anderson and Lucille Snyder Anderson. She spent most of her childhood in Montana and attended Custer County High School in Miles City, Montana. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University.
She married Lyman Burns Knutson on October 20, 1946, in Denver, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on March 16, 1949. For the last forty years they made their home in Idaho Falls where her husband had his medical practice. In later years, they spent time living in Idaho Falls and Salt Lake City. Her husband died March 18, 1998.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as Relief Society President and as a teacher. She was also a docent at the Museum of Church History and Art in Salt Lake City. She enjoyed family history, was an accomplished pianist, and was a talented writer with stories published in the Friend magazine and Highlights for Children.
Surviving are:Daughter: Loraine [Mark] Manwaring, Payson, UTDaughter: Susan [Ken] Nelsen, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Peggy [Ward] Hicks, Safford, AZSon: Thomas [Jackie] Knutson, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Douglas [Barbara] Knutson, Idaho Falls, IDBrother: Bill Anderson, St. George, UT 18 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Monday, June 17, 2002, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, with her son-in-law, Ward Hicks officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1920 East 17th Street, Suite 200, Idaho Falls, ID 83404.
