Click Here To View Memorial Video Barbara Berrett Jones, 88, our loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home October 17, 2013, surrounded by family. She was born August 26, 1925, in Menan, Idaho, to William Silas Berrett and Rachel Beach Berrett. She was the youngest of 15 children and had a wonderful childhood growing up on the family farm. She attended school in Roberts and graduated from Roberts High School. She attended the University of Utah and received an associate degree from Ricks College in 1947. While attending Ricks, she met her husband, Robert Randall Jones. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 8, 1947. They lived in Idaho Falls, where they raised their four children. Barbara was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings working with the young people in the ward. She also served in the Relief Society. She worked 25 years in the school system, first as a teacher in private kindergarten and then in the math resource center at Skyline High School. She finished her career as secretary to the principal of Dora Erickson Elementary. Barbara loved painting beautiful water colors, especially flowers. She also wrote children's books and poetry. Her passion was reading books, and she passed this love to her children and grandchildren. Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother, and she also played a significant role in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always nurtured everyone who needed her care. She is survived by her husband of Idaho Falls and their four children, Diane Jones and Peggy (Dean) Lowe of Idaho Falls, Christine Walterscheid of Salt Lake City, and Dr. Robert “Bobby” Jones, Jr., of Pocatello. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 14 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Travis Wilkins officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home. 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery. The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice, especially Marcie, for her loving care.

Funeral Services Will Be Held:

Tuesday October 22, 2013 , 11:00 a.m. at Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward

The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge) and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
