Barbara "Bobbi" Johnston

Barbara Ann Stewart Johnston, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away quietly on November 22, 2025, at her home.

Barbara was born April 28,1934, in her grandparents’ home, in Upper Presto, Idaho, to Roland Asher Stewart and Alta Elizabeth Hansen Stewart. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and Goshen, Idaho, Brigham City, Salt Lake City and Farmington, Utah. She graduated from IFHS in 1952. Later that year she met her sweetheart, LeMoyne, while working at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Idaho Falls. He had recently returned from serving in the Korean War and Barbara was immediately smitten.

On February 21, 1953 Barbara and LeMoyne were married in her grandparents’ home, where she was born, in Upper Presto. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 6, 1965. To this union were born five children. Bobbi and LeMoyne made their home in Ammon and Idaho Falls. They were married for 64 years.

Bobbi worked at various jobs. She sold Avon and Tupperware. She managed Aunt Fanny’s Ice Cream Parlor. Later, she worked for Bonneville School District 93 as a paraprofessional occupational therapist for twenty years, as an aide in the Little Chicks Preschool, and in the resource room at Hillcrest High School. After she retired, she continued to substitute teach. She was a loving teacher and touched many lives with her joyful personality.

She loved her family and extended family. She spent many hours playing games with, and entertaining, her grandchildren. Many fond memories were made within the walls of her home. She was generous with her time and opened her home to all. She will be remembered for her hugs, 4th of July picnics, family reunions, singing, loving and nurturing others. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had great faith in the power of prayer. She enjoyed serving in the Primary, Young Women, as a Relief Society President, a special needs primary teacher and with her husband in the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by her five children: Robert LeMoyne (Eileen) Johnston of Ammon, ID; Kathryn Ann (Travis) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; Larry Roland (Jana) Johnston of Ammon, ID; Jon David (Jeri) Johnston of Grant, ID; Bryan Lee (Raquel) Johnston of Odgen, UT; four siblings, Mary Kresse, Sunnyside, WA; Remes (Shirlene) Stewart, Idaho Falls, ID; Jeanette (Don) Luce of Shelley, ID; Rose (Gary) Tyger of Shelley, ID; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laird LeMoyne Johnston Jr., parents, Roland and Alta Stewart; sisters, Dora Dean Sauer, and Verlee Norris and a daughter-in-law, Sheri Johnston.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Ammon 8th Ward, 2055 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends and family Friday December 5, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
