Barbara Jeanne Quigley

Barbara Jeanne Brucks Quigley, 88, of Ammon, passed away July 1, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Barbara was born October 24, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to David Harold Brucks and Hazel Louise Elkington Brucks. She grew up and attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. She also attended Idaho State University and Utah State University where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Education.

On June 20, 1958, she married Merle J. Quigley in the Idaho Falls Temple. Barbara and Merle made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Barbara worked as a school teacher for Bonneville School District #93.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. She was a hard worker and enjoyed volunteering at the grade school, giving book reviews, playing games, and doing puzzles.

Barbara is survived by her son, Brooks A. Quigley of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Roger Brucks of Rigby, ID; sisters, Ellen (Richard) Jacobson of Rigby, ID, Linda (Tom) Janson of Worley, ID, and Phyllis (Alan) Williams of Mt. Vernon, WA; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Hazel Brucks, and husband, Merle Quigley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Ammon 1st Ward, 3000 Central Avenue. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
