IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Barbara Claire Heileson, 80, of Idaho Falls, died January 7, 2008, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehab of natural causes.
She was born July 25, 1927, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Ralph Ammon Heileson and Thora Ellen Ricks Heileson. She grew up in Felt, attended Tetonia Elementary School and graduated from Madison High School. She also graduated from Ricks College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. While she was in college, she became ill with bacterial meningitis, which progressed into encephalitis. Although she recovered, her illness greatly curtailed her ability to care for herself. She taught school for three years before her illness at Lincoln Elementary. Since the death of her mother in 1971, she has lived with her sister Joanne in Ammon.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had perfect attendance in Sacrament Meeting for 45 years; she was an accomplished pianist and accompanied Relief Society and Primary for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano, embroidery, and crocheting.
Survivors include:
Sister: Joanne (Nolan) Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, ID

Dear Joanne,
Sorry to hear about Barbara. She was a special lady and I so enjoyed our association as we served with you in the Stake Relief Society. You were a saint to serve her so faithfully for all of these years. I admire you so for your kindness and goodness to her. We are down in St. George and will be unable to attend the funeral, but hope you know of our love for you and those of your family we know. Thanks for being such a great example to us.
Love,
