Barbara Chase

Barbara Marlene Chase, 59, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away June 17, 2018, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and her loving family. Barbara was born July 28, 1958, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, to Richmond Rush and Marlene McConnel Rush. She grew up and attended schools in Ronan, Montana, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. On August 9, 1991, she married Rick Chase in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Barbara and Rick made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara enjoyed horseback riding and fishing. She was also a sponsor and advocate to many people who were part of Alcoholics Anonymous. Barbara is survived by her loving her husband of 27 years, Rick Chase; son, Jason Daniel Rush of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Joseph Frank (Amanda) Rush of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Mary Ganieany (John) Gatens of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Patty L Ganieany of Battle Ground, WA; sister, Joann (Jim) Talent of Magna, UT; brother, Jerry (Tracey) Ganieany of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, John (Michelle) Ganieany of Boise, ID; mother, Marlene Ganieany, of Idaho Falls, ID; 6 granddaughters and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Rush, brothers; Rich Rush, Charlie Ganieany, and sister, Paulie Rush, and her father. A gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue.
