Barbara F. Hunter, 90, of Swan Valley, passed away March 16, 2025, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of Brio Hospice.
Barbara was born November 16, 1934, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Richard and Jerusha Cole Beam. She grew up in Swan Valley on the family ranch, attending school in Swan Valley and graduating for Idaho Falls High School. After High School she attended Colorado Women’s College. She moved to Southern California with her sister Edna Mae, where she worked for the phone company and then Rockwell International as a statistician on the Apollo Project.
In 1964, she married her husband of 60 years, Gary John Hunter.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, reading, going on drives and playing cards with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Beam; and husband, Gary Hunter.
She is survived by her sister, Edna Mae Ohler; sister-in-law, Belle Beam; son, Mark (Treana) Hunter; grandchildren, Jason (Andi), Chad (Courtney), Chelsey (Daniel), Jennifer (Oliver), and Sarah; and 2 great-grandchildren.
The Family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to the staff at Lincoln Court Assisted Living and Brio Home Health and Hospice for their exceptional care.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Chapel in the Valley, 3263 US-26 in Swan Valley, Idaho.
