Click Here To View Memorial VideoBeloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Erma Ardys "Babe" Carter, 92, of Idaho Falls, died peacefully February 26, 2016, at her home in MorningStar Senior Living Center. Born March 21, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, to Edward Vincent Janes and Blanche Marian Tracy Janes, she grew up in Idaho Falls and attended schools in Iona. She met her husband, Earl James Carter, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and they were married April 28, 1941. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple exactly 40 years later. To this union were born five children, Kathryn, Paul, Connie, Edith, and Jeff. Earl and Ardys made their home in Idaho Falls, where Ardys was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Babe was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She especially loved working with the young women’s organization. Babe was a wonderful homemaker and at age 65 opened Babe’s Bakery with her two daughters. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and loved spending time with her family at Island Park. She was an avid gardener and was known for her beautiful roses. She was also a great cook and baker. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Marlo) Scott of Richland, WA; her daughter, Edith Morris of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jeff (Suzanne) Carter of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Wilma (Clyde) Rust of Portland, OR; sister, Anna Henderson of Dillon, MT. 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren Her husband, Earl James Carter, daughter, Kathryn Bruun, son, Paul Carter, and her parents, Edward and Blanche Janes, preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. The family would like to thank MorningStar Retirement Community for the loving care they provided for Babe.
