Austin Welch

Austin Richard Welch, 24, of Arco, passed away July 2, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Austin was born January 29, 1993, in Columbus, Georgia, to Bret Richard Welch and Tammy Renea Connor Frederici. He grew up in Berkshire, New York, and graduated from Newark Valley High School. On April 23, 2016, he married Roshy J. Pugmire in Arco, Idaho. To this union was born a son, Cody. Austin and Roshy made their home in Arco, where Austin co-owned Home Maintenance with his step-dad, Jeff. Austin enjoyed the outdoors, soccer, hunting, hiking, four-wheeling, dirt racing cars, fitness, and running. He ran the Spartan Race in one hour and five minutes. He loved watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Berkshire Fire Department. Austin is survived by his loving wife, Roshy Pugmire Welch of Arco, ID; son, Cody David Welch of Arco, ID; father, Bret (Jamie) Welch of Berkshire, NY; mother, Tammy (Jeff) Frederici of Arco, ID; and sister, Harley Welch of Berkshire, NY; grandfather, Richard "Dick" Welch of Berkshire, NY; grandfather, Robert Connor of Arco, ID; and a large, loving extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ailene Connor and Nancy Welch, and brother, Cody Wayne Welch. Graveside Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date in Arco. There will also be a Celebration of Life held in Berkshire, New York, at a later date.
