Austin P. Jensen - 03/01/2002 Austin P. Jensen - 03/01/2002 AUSTIN P. JENSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Austin Peter Jensen, 94, of Idaho Falls, died February 28, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from causes incident to age. He was born June 23, 1907 to Peter Jensen and Margaret McKinley Jensen in Teton, Idaho. He grew up and attended schools in Teton and Burton. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and held the rank of Sergeant. He married Dorothy Pearl Bergman on November 20, 1942 in Rexburg, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in April, 1955. She preceded him in death July 28, 1999. He operated his farm and also worked at the Lincoln Sugar Factory and as a caretaker for the Church building in Iona. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions which included M.I.A. Superintendency, scout leader, and Sunday School Secretary. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and especially spending time with his family. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2002, at the Iona LDS 1st Ward, (5169 Denning Street in Iona), with Bishop Bill Torngren officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83402-4092.
