Aurelia Clemons

Aurelia D. Nielson Clemons, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 19, 2017, at her home.

Aurelia was born October 20, 1941, in Logan, Utah, to Charles William Nielson and Leah Dilworth Nielson. The family moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon where she graduated from McLaughlin High School. She also attended Utah State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design.

On August 13, 1966, she married Richard Allen Clemons in Elko, Nevada. To this union were born three children: David, Christen, and Emmett. Aurelia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in a number of callings. She was passionate about family history research, and devoted much of her life to Danish records translation, indexing and research, and helping others find their ancestors at the Family History Center.

Aurelia is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard Clemons of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David (Brenda) Clemons of Melba, ID, daughter, Christen (Lonny) Chambers of Ammon, ID, brother, Merritt (Robin) Nielson of Bellevue, WA, sister, Nita (Ron) Fishburn of Purcell, OK, brother, Dennis (Laura) Nielson of Walla Walla, WA, brother, Allen (Loa) Nielson of Snowflake, AZ, brother, Lanny (Grace) Nielson of Provo, UT, brother, Kim (Denise) Nielson of Chandler, AZ. 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Emmett William Clemons; and a sister, Lori Jo Hadlock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Lincoln LDS Ward (3700 East Lincoln Road). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
